Risk Management Policy

Risks can present itself in various forms impacting different elements of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd, whether it be safety, environment, quality, or the organisation as a whole. The purpose of implementing and integrating a risk management process is to ensure that risks are eliminated or mitigated, whilst objectives and opportunities are strategically achieved.

This policy applies to all staff, including contractors and covers all work-related functions and activities, including external training courses sponsored by Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd.

 

It also applies for all recruitment, selection and promotion decisions.

Injury Management
Return-to-Work Policy

Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring that each employee is covered by and understands the following workplace based occupational injury management and return-to-work (RTW) policy.

 

Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd will:

 

  • Actively seek to prevent injury and illness through the provision of a safe and healthy working environment.

  • Ensure that, where necessary, the Injury Management & Return to Work process is commenced as soon as possible after an injury in a manner consistent with the medical advice given.

  • Ensure that return to work by an injured employee takes place as soon as possible and that this becomes a normal expectation and practice.

  • Wherever possible, provide alternative duties for an injured employee as part of the Injury Management & Return to Work process with consideration for any partial disability.

  • Consult with employees and their representatives on any important matters concerning the Injury Management & Return to Work process.

  • Ensure that participation in the Injury Management & Return to Work programme will not be detrimental to an injured employee.

  • Ensure that documentation is properly maintained to conform with internal company procedures and statutory requirements.

To achieve this vision, Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd’s Senior Management Team commit to:

 

  • Taking overall responsibility and accountability for the effectiveness of the Business Management System (BMS)

  • Ensuring that the BMS policies and related objectives are established and are compatible with the strategic direction of the organisation.

  • Ensuring the integration of the BMS requirements into the organisations business processes.

  • Ensuring that the resources needed to establish, implement, maintain, and improve the BMS are available.

  • Communicate the importance of effective quality management and of conforming to the BMS requirements.

  • Ensuring that the BMS achieves its intended outcomes.

  • Engaging, directing, and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the BMS.

  • Committing to and promoting continual improvement.

  • Supporting other relevant management roles to demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their areas of responsibility.

We maintain and continuously improve a Business Management System that complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

 

This Quality Policy is applicable to our Directors, employees, contractors and to any person or organisation that represents us as well as suppliers in the conduct of their activities for and on our behalf.

QUALITY
Drug and Alcohol Policy

Marine Asset Management Pty Ltd will not tolerate the consumption of drugs or alcohol on company premises and during working hours. The effect of alcohol and or drugs increases the risk of accidents, making it necessary to adopt this policy.

 

The objective of this policy is to ensure the health, safety and welfare of Marine Asset Management Pty Ltd personnel, contractors, consultants, clients, visitors, and the general public.

 

Breach of this policy will lead to disciplinary action, which may include summary dismissal. The only exception to this policy is at authorised company functions and events whereby responsible service of alcohol principals will apply, non-alcoholic beverages will be available at all functions.

 

Marine Asset Management Pty Ltd will not tolerate employees or contractors being under the influence of alcohol or drugs or appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs in situations which include the following:

  • Installation or maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment.

  • Operation of machinery or vehicles.

  • On any work premises.

Marine Asset Management Pty Ltd’s drug and alcohol policy is applicable to our Directors, employees, contractors and to any person or organisation that represents us as well as suppliers in the conduct of their activities for an on our behalf. This policy, together with the measurable objectives and targets, will be reviewed periodically to ensure that it remains relevant and suitable to the organisation.

As part of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd’s commitment to achieving the principles of health and safety in our workplace we recognise our moral and legal responsibility to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees, contractors, clients and visitors. This commitment also extends to ensuring that our operations and activities do not place the local community or environment at risk of injury, illness, or damage. We maintain and continuously improve an OHS Management System that complies with the requirements of ISO 45001:2018.

Internet, Email and Social Media Policy

1. Internet Use

The internet is provided by Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd for business use. Limited private use is permitted if the private use does not interfere with a person’s work and that inappropriate sites are not accessed, e.g., pornographic, gambling. Management has the right to access the system to check if private use is excessive or inappropriate.

 

Failure to comply with these instructions is an offence and will be subject to appropriate investigation. In serious cases, the penalty for an offence, or repetition of an offence, may include dismissal. Staff need to be aware that some forms of internet conduct may lead to criminal prosecution.
 

2. Email Use

Email facilities are provided for formal business correspondence. Each employee must take care to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Limited private use of email is allowed provided use does not interfere with or distract from an employee’s work. However, management has the right to access incoming and outgoing email messages to check if an employee’s usage or involvement is excessive or inappropriate.

All emails sent must include the approved business disclaimer.

 

To protect Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd from the potential effects of the misuse and abuse of email, the following instructions are for all users:

 

  • No material is to be sent as an email that is defamatory, in breach of copyright or business confidentiality, or prejudicial to the good standing of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd in the community or to its relationship with staff, customers, suppliers and any other person or business with whom it has a relationship.

  • Email must not contain material that amounts to gossip about colleagues or that could be offensive, demeaning, persistently irritating, threatening, discriminatory, involves the harassment of others or concerns personal relationships.

  • The email records of other persons are not to be accessed except by management (or persons authorised by management) ensuring compliance with this policy, or by authorised staff who have been requested to attend to a fault, upgrade, or similar situation. Access in each case will be limited to the minimum needed for the task.

  • When using email, a person must not pretend to be another person or use another person’s computer without permission

  • Excessive private use, including mass mailing, “reply to all” etc. that are not part of the person’s duties is not permitted

  • Failure to comply with these instructions is a performance improvement offence and will be investigated. In serious cases, the penalty for breach of policy, or repetition of an offence, may include dismissal
     

3. Use of Professional Social Media

Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd expects its employees to maintain a certain standard of behaviour when using Social Media for work purposes. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and sub-contractors of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd who contribute to or perform duties such as:

 

  • Maintaining a profile page for Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd on any social or business networking site (including, but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter)

  • Making comments on such networking sites for and on behalf of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd

  • Writing or contributing to blog and/or commenting on other people’s or business’ blog posts for and on behalf of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd

  • Posting comments for and on behalf of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd on any public and/or private web-based forums or message boards or other internet sites

No employee, contractor, or sub-contractor of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd is to engage in Social Media as a representative or on behalf of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd unless they first obtain written approval.

 

If any employee, contractor, or sub-contractor of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd is directed to contribute to or participate in any form of Social Media related work, they are to always act in a professional manner and in the best interests of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd.

 

All employees, contractors and sub-contractors must ensure they do not communicate any:

 

  • Confidential Information relating to Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd or its clients, business partners or suppliers

  • Material that violates the privacy or publicity rights of another party

  • Information (regardless of whether it is confidential or public knowledge) about clients, business partners or suppliers of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd without their prior authorisation or approval to do so; on any social or business networking sites, web-based forums or message boards, or other internal sites.

Confidential Information includes any information in any form relating to Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd and related bodies, clients, or businesses, which is not in the public domain. This includes, but is not limited to, financial records of the business, active/inactive client/customer lists, payment details of clients, other employee’s personal details etc.

4. Private/Personal Use of Social Media

Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd acknowledges its employees, contractors and sub-contractors have the right to contribute content to public communications on websites, blogs and business or social networking sites not operated by Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd. However, inappropriate behaviour on such sites has the potential to cause damage to Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd, as well as its employees, clients, business partners and/or suppliers.

 

For this reason, all employees, contractors, and sub-contractors of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd must agree to not publish any material, in any form, which identifies themselves as being associated with Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd or its clients, business partners or suppliers.

 

All employees, contractors, and sub-contractors of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd must also refrain from posting, sending, forwarding, or using, in any way, any inappropriate material including but not limited to which:

  • Is intended to (or could possibly) cause insult, offence, intimidation, or humiliation to Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd or its clients, business partners or suppliers

  • Is defamatory or could adversely affect the image, reputation, viability, or profitability of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd, or its clients, business partners or suppliers

  • Contains any form of confidential information relating to Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd, or its clients, business partners or suppliers

All employees, contractors, and sub-contractors of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd must comply with this policy. Any breach of this policy will be treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment or (for contractors and sub-contractors) the termination or non-renewal of contractual arrangements.

 

Other disciplinary action that may be taken includes, but is not limited to, issuing a formal warning, directing people to attend mandatory training, suspension from the workplace and/or permanently or temporarily denying access to all or part of Marine Asset Management Group Pty Ltd computer network.

For the purposes of this policy, the following definitions apply:

 

Social Media includes all internet-based publishing technologies. Most forms of Social Media are interactive, allowing authors, readers, and publishers to connect and interact with one another. The published material can often be accessed by anyone. Forms of Social Media include, but are not limited to, social or business networking sites (i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn), video and/or photo sharing websites (i.e., YouTube, Flickr), business/corporate and personal blogs, micro-blogs (i.e., Twitter), chat rooms and forums and/or Social Media.
